Grubby’s Poke & Fish Market is an Eco-Friendly Restaurant

It’s no secret that we’re at a pivotal moment in determining the future of our environment and our planet. During this impactful time, our team at Grubby’s Poke recognizes that it is essential to do everything we can to help the environment, whether the changes be large or simply a few small tweaks in the way we conduct our restaurant. At Grubby’s Poke and Fish Market, we try to do our part by striving to be as eco-friendly as possible. While we acknowledge that our eco-friendly measures are not going to change the world overnight, it is part of a concentrated effort by the team at Grubby’s Poke to make the world and the North County community a better place. Below you can find some of the practices we employ to make Grubby’s Poke an eco-friendly restaurant.

Eco-Friendly Utensils

At Grubby’s Poke and Fish Market, you will only find eco-friendly utensils. Gone are harmful plastic forks, knives, and spoons that will never properly decompose. In their place, Grubby’s is using wooden chopsticks, compostable forks, and other utensils that can quickly and easily decompose back into the Earth.

No Plastic Straws

The truth is finally out about plastic straws. Plastic straws are bad for the ocean, pollute the water, and can be harmful to marine life. That is why there has been a recent push to pivot from plastic straws to a more eco-friendly straw. At Grubby’s Poke, we offer high quality, plant-based, compostable straws with our beverages, allowing you an easy way to sip your drink without poisoning the ocean.

Compostable Plates and Bowls

Get the convenience of to-go plates or bowls without doing harm to Mother Earth with plant-based compostable plates and bowls. No matter what you order, we will provide you with an eco-friendly plate or bowl to enjoy your delicious meal on.

Paper Bags Instead of Plastic Bags

Plastic bags can do serious harm to the environment. That is why we only offer paper bags, a more eco-friendly and safe option. Whenever you get an order to-go at Grubby’s, you can be sure that your yummy poke will be housed in a paper bag.

Sustainable Buying Habits With Our Fish

Grubby’s Poke and Fish Market aims to purchase sustainably caught fish from local fisherman. Overfishing and other poor fishing practices can decimate the ecosystem of an environment, so we aim to support our community and the ocean by employing sustainable buying habits with our fish*.

*Please keep in mind that not all of Grubby’s fish is sustainably caught. We opt to buy sustainably when it is readily available at a fair price.
